COMMUNITY FILM INCENTIVE PROGRAM

The Community Film Incentive Program (CFIP) is designed to foster new and up-and-coming local filmmakers and productions. Please review requirements, application due dates and FAQs.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
  • CFIP Application must be completed and accepted PRIOR to the start of principal photography
  • Minimum qualified spend in Utah of $20,000
  • Maximum qualified spend in Utah of $500,000
  • 85% of cast & crew are Utah residents
  • At least one ATL position is a Utah resident
  • At least $100 a day for cast and crew wages
  • At least one of the key department heads has to be in the position for the first time
  • Demonstrate the Utah production budget is 100% financed
  • Submit a distribution plan
  • Show a Utah Film Commission screen credit
  • Supply five (5) production film stills
  • Grant access to ATL interviews and/or BTS footage
    • The production will produce the footage and deliver it to the UFC or the UFC will be allowed on set to produce BTS footage and conduct ATL interviews
  • Deliver an independent review from a licensed Utah CPA utilizing the  agreed-upon procedures
  • ATL= above the line, BTS = behind the scenes
APPLICATION REQUIREMENTS
  • Complete script
  • Total production budget
  • Utah production budget (qualified dollars left in state)
  • Proof of financing documentation
    • Completion bond
    • SAG bond
    • Payroll statement
    • Bank statement
    • In studio financing letter or agreement
