You may or may not have been to Utah, but chances are you've seen Utah on the big screen, television and print magazines all over the world in one of the more than 800 films and TV movies filmed here. Hollywood first discovered Utah in the 1920s when films like Stagecoach were filmed in the southern part of the state. Since then, Utah has been the backdrop for hundreds of films, such as Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Dumb and Dumber, and Mission: Impossible 2.

Formed in 1974, the Utah Film Commission is a part of the Governor's Office of Economic Development, and is a member of the Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI). Our knowledgeable staff is here to assist your production with all of your filming needs 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from initial scouts and pre-production to principal photography and post-production. We provide professional and timely consulting to your production questions, and can assist you with the inevitable last-minute changes with your production needs.
